20 Reasons why Sarah Palin is Unfit to be Vice President of US

advertisement

Sarah Palin has been named as McCain's running mate in the forthcoming US presidential elections. The Palin Watch has started. To assist US voters I have documented 20 reasons why Sarah Palin is unfit to be VP.

1. Palin opposes polar bear endangerment listing.

Palin opposes adding polar bears to the nation's list of endangered species: "adding polar bears to the nation's list of endangered species, as some are now proposing, should not be part of those efforts" (see: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/05/opinion/05palin.html?_r=1&oref=slogin ) . Palin is suing the Interior Department on Alaska's behalf in reaction to the Feds' decision to list the animals as threatened (see: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/08/31/BARB12KSHM.DTL ).

2. Palin supports violators of Indigenous Rights.

Palin supports Bush and McCain. Palin and McCain support Bush's War on Terror that is so far associated with 2 million post-invasion excess deaths of Indigenous People in Occupied Iraq and 3-6 million post-invasion excess deaths of Indigenous People in Occupied Afghanistan (see: http://www.liberalati.com/?q=node/261 ); pro-Coal McCain was involved in the continuing removal of American Indians from their sacred land (see : http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/33033 ); pro-Oil Palin is involved in environmental vandalism of the sacred lands of the Indigenous People of Alaska (for the extent of the Arctic ice melting disaster see the US Snow and Ice Data Center: http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/ ); Bush refused to ratify the UN Declaration of Indigenous Rights (see: http://www.arcticpeoples.org/2007/09/13/arctic-states-split-on-un-declaration-on-rights-of-indigenous-peoples/ )

3. Palin is anti-gay in opposing same sex marriage and benefits.

Palin: "I am pro-life and I believe that marriage should only be between and man and a woman. I am opposed to any expansion of gambling in Alaska" (source: Campaign website, www.palinforgovernor.com , "Issues" Nov 7, 2006; http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Civil_Rights.htm ). Palin opposedbenefits for same-sex couples (see: http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1837523_1837531_1837538,00.html ).

4. Palin supports gross de facto military violation of the "right to life" of BORN foreign infants.

Palin supports Bush and McCain. Palin and McCain support Bush's War on Terror that is so far associated with 0.6 million post-invasion under-5 infant deaths in Occupied Iraq and 2.3 million in Occupied Afghanistan (see: http://www.liberalati.com/?q=node/261 ; for detailed demographic details see the UN Population Division: http://esa.un.org/unpp/ ).

5. Palin supports Bush and ignores Bush policies killing BORN American infants

Palin supports the Bush Administration War and Domestic policies yet 20,000 under-5 year old American infants die avoidably each year due to the warped priorities and policies of the Bush Administration; 8 x 20,000 = 160,000 under-5 year old American infants will have died avoidably under the Palin-supported Bush Administration (see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/7102/26/ ).

6. Palin opposes pro-choice laws for women.

Palin: "I am pro-life" (source: Campaign website, www.palinforgovernor.com , "Issues" Nov 7, 2006; http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Civil_Rights.htm ) and "I'm pro-life. I'll do all I can to see every baby is created with a future and potential. The legislature should do all it can to protect human life" (see: http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/sarah_palin_vp/2008/08/29/126139.html ). McCain also says "I am pro-life" (see: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/John_McCain_Abortion.htm ).

7. Palin ignores horrendous child sexual abuse in America

Palin supports horrendous abuse of women and children abroad by the US through the War on Terror that is so far associated with 0.6 million post-invasion under-5 infant deaths in Occupied Iraq and 2.3 million in Occupied Afghanistan (see: http://www.liberalati.com/?q=node/261 ) but ignores horrible abuses of American women and children at home. In an adult retrospective US study victimization as children was reported by 27% of women (1 in 4) and 16% of men (1 in 6); median age for abuse: 9.9 for boys and 9.6 for girls; 42% of the women and 33% of the men reported never having disclosed the experience to anyone; there are about 60 million US adult survivors of child sexual abuse (1993), corresponding to 69 million out of a total population of 300 million (2007) (data from Prevent Abuse Now, 2000; see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/11683/42/ ). The "Little Children are Sacred" Report refers to studies in America indicating that 25% of females and 10% of males experience childhood sexual abuse (Finkelhor, D. (1994): Current information on the scope and nature of child sexual abuse", Future of Children, 4(2), pp31-53; see also: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/15140/42/ ).

8. Palin ignores horrendous over 50 million infant excess deaths down to the US

Palin supports McCain and past US wars. For impoverished Third World countries, the under-5 infant deaths are about 70% of the total excess deaths (see "Layperson's Guide to counting Iraq deaths" on MWC News: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/5872/26/ ). From the 82 million excess deaths in the period 1950-2005 in countries occupied in the post-1945 era by the US (see: http://globalavoidablemortality.blogspot.com/ ), one can estimate that the 1950-2005 under-5 infant deaths were about 0.7x 82 million = 57.4 million, of which about 90% were AVOIDABLE i.e 0.9 x 57.4 million = 51.7 million or about 52 million avoidable under-5 infant deaths. Palin supports the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War. Indigenous under-5 infant deaths totaled 1.2 million (Sanctions War against Iraq, 1990-2003), 0.6 million (Iraq war 2003-2008) and 2.3 million (Afghanistan War, 2001-2008), a grand total of 4 million under-5 infant deaths in these US-violated territories, 90% avoidable (i.e. 3.6 million avoidable infant deaths) and largely due to gross US war crimes in gross violation of the Geneva Convention (see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/19275/42/ ).

9. Palin supports the death penalty for Americans.

Palin: "If the legislature passed a death penalty law, I would sign it" (see: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Crime.htm ) - notwithstanding the "right to life" and the horrible reality that numerous innocent Americans are killed by the State each year under such laws.

10. Palin is a climate sceptic denying man-made climate change

Palin: "A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made" (see: http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/sarah_palin_vp/2008/08/29/126139.html ).

11. Palin supports oil industry endangerment of Alaska wilderness

Palin is an enthusiastic supporter of oil and gas exploitation in the formerly pristine Alaska wilderness (see: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Energy_+_Oil.htm ).

12. Palin supports gun ownership

Palin is a life-long member of the National Rifle Association: "The right to own guns and use them responsibly is something I and many other Alaskans cherish" (see: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Gun_Control.htm ). Americans kill about 30,000 Americans annually with guns; 8 x 30,000 = 240,000 Americans will have been killed by Guns under the Bush Administration (see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/14042/26/ ).

13. Palin is pro-War and pro-Zionist i.e. supports violent occupation and colonization of foreign lands

Palin supports the pro-War and pro-Zionist policies of McCain and Bush that involve the violent invasion, occupation, devastation and colonization of foreign countries. Using estimates from the UN Population Division, UNICEF and top US medical epidemiologists one can estimate the following carnage in the ongoing, Zionist- , Bush-ite and neo-Bush-ite-promoted Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide - post-invasion excess deaths 0.3 million, 2 million, and 3-6 million, respectively; post-invasion under-5 infant deaths 0.2 million, 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively; refugees totalling 7 million, 4.5 million and 4 million, respectively) (for the latest details and documentation see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/19915/42/ ; http://www.brusselstribunal.org/Messages190308.htm#polya ; http://www.countercurrents.org/polya080208.htm ; http://www.liberalati.com/?q=node/261 ).

14. Palin supports teaching creationism and "intelligent design" in schools

Palin, BS in communications-journalism from the University of Idaho and former Beauty Queen (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin ), believes that the anti-scientific nonsense of creationism and "intelligent design" should be taught to children in school (see: http://religionclause.blogspot.com/2008/08/first-look-at-sarah-palins-religious.html ).

15. Palin ignores horrendous avoidable death of 1 million Americans annually under Bush

Palin ignores the horrendous avoidable deaths of about 1 million Americans annually due to warped Republican policies (for a detailed, documented breakdown see: http://gpolya.newsvine.com/_news/2008/06/19/1593137-carbon-burning-zionism-war-kill-1-million-americans-yearly ).

16. Pro-Oil and pro-Coal Palin ignores huge American deaths from particulate pollutants

Recent European data (2005) (see: http://www.burningissues.org/bbc-2-2005air-pollution-dea.htm ) indicates that 310,000 people of the European Union (2005 population ) and 33,000 in the UK (2005 population 59.6 million) die each year from particulates, from which one can estimate that for the US (2005 population 300 million) about 300 x 33,000/59.6 = 166,000 Americans die each year from particulate pollutants (see: http://gpolya.newsvine.com/_news/2008/06/19/1593137-carbon-burning-zionism-war-kill-1-million-americans-yearly ).

17. Pro-Coal Palin ignores huge American deaths from coal-based power generation

Palin is a pro-Oil and pro-Coal climate sceptic (see: http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm ) but ignores the horrendous deaths of 49,000 Americans annually from coal burning-based electricity generation. Pollutants from fossil fuel-based electricity generation (as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, particulates, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, volatile organic components and heavy metals, notably mercury (Hg) ; see: http://dar.csiro.au/…/urbanpollution.html ) kill 170,000 people world-wide each year and cause about 49,000 [2006] "annual coal-based electricity deaths" in the US as compared to 72,000 "total annual fossil fuel-based electricity deaths"in the US (see: http://green-blog.org/2008/06/14/pollutants-from-coal-based-electricity-generation-kill-170000-people-annually/ ).

18. Palin supports shooting wolves from the air

Palin opposed Congressman Miller (D-Martinez, a member of the House Natural Resources Committee) who introduced federal legislation (supported by US environmental groups) to end Alaska's policy of allowing people to shoot wolves from airplanes. Palin evidently argues that wolves diminish the moose and caribou available for human eaters (see: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/08/31/BARB12KSHM.DTL ).

19. Palin supports "business as usual" and expanded carbon burning

Palin supports "business as usual" and expanded logging, drilling, coal mining, gas and oil industries (see: http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm ) that contribute to net increase in the atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) pollution that threatens the world with runaway climate change. Top US climate scientist Dr James Hansen and his colleagues at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), New York have a completely opposite and EXPERT view: "If humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilization developed and to which life on Earth is adapted, paleoclimate evidence and ongoing climate change suggest that CO2 will need to be reduced from its current 385 ppm to at most 350 ppm. The largest uncertainty in the target arises from possible changes of non-CO2 forcings. An initial 350 ppm CO2 target may be achievable by phasing out coal use except where CO2 is captured and adopting agricultural and forestry practices that sequester carbon. If the present overshoot of this target CO2 is not brief, there is a possibility of seeding irreversible catastrophic effects" (see: http://arxiv.org/abs/0804.1126 ; for similar views of top world climate scientists see the detailed and documented Climate emergency Fact Sheets of the Melbourne, AustraliaYarra Valley Climate Action Group: http://sites.google.com/site/yarravalleyclimateactiongroup/Home ).

20. Palin policies depart from rational, science-based risk management – the Arctic is melting, the World faces a Climate Emergency

Dan Quayle-like Sarah Palin is a real-life caricature of a female Religious Right Republican – a former Beauty Queen, BS in journalism and small-town mayor, Palin is a Religious Right climate sceptic who is anti-abortion, anti-Science, anti-intellectual, anti-Gay, pro-capital punishment, pro-Oil, pro-Gas, pro-Coal , pro-Creationism, pro-Intelligent Design, pro-Zionist, pro-Bush, pro-McCain, pro-War, pro-Gun and pro-Carbon pollution and may end up with her finger on the nuclear trigger.

Rational risk management (that, for example has made aviation extremely safe for passengers and for those wanting to shoot endangered wild life from aeroplanes in Alaska) successively involves (a) getting accurate date, (b) applying scientific analysis (science involving the critical testing of potentially falsifiable hypotheses) and (c) sensible, informed systemic change.

Unfortunately the Bush era of Lies, Spin and War has seen the appalling perversion of rational risk management by (a) lies, deceit, censorship and propaganda , (b) anti-science spin involving the selective use of asserted facts to support a partisan position and (c) "blame and shame" (with war the ultimate obscenity).

The consequences of the Bush-ite policies of people like Sarah Palin and those she supports can be seen in the horrendous carnage in America (1 million Americans die avoidably each year), the horrendous carnage in the American Empire (post-invasion excess deaths in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories now total 0.3 million, 2 million and 3-6 million, respectively) and the devastation of the biosphere - extinction rates are 100-1,000 greater now than in the past and the World is facing a Climate Emergency and a Sustainability Emergency (see: http://sites.google.com/site/yarravalleyclimateactiongroup/Home and http://www.climateemergencynetwork.org/ ) .

A picture says a thousand words – there is no more damning testament to the utter evil and irresponsibility of Bush-ite policies than the images of the rapidly melting Arctic provided by the official, expert, United States National Snow and Ice Data Center (2008 is almost as bad as 2007, the year of the lowest recorded Arctic ice cover): http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/ .

According ot the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS, the world's biggest general scientific organization and the publisher of the world's top scientific journal Science), the major RISKS to humanity are (1) nuclear weapons, (2) global warming and (3) poverty (see: http://www.climatesciencewatch.org/index.php/csw/details/holdren-aaas1/ and http://rationalriskmanagement.blogspot.com/) .

Where does Palin stand on these core RISK issues for America and the World?

A. Palin supports American Empire, nuclear weapons, US and Israeli nuclear terrorism, and the invasion, occupation and devastation of other countries (countries currently occupied and devastated "in whole or in part" by the US or its surrogates with Palin's support include Occupied Haiti, Somalia, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Diego Garcia, Iraq, Afghanistan and robot-bombed Waziristan in Pakistan)

B. Palin is intimately connected with Big Oil and supports the burning of fossil fuels to the extent of raping one of the world's last pristine wildernesses (Alaska) to get more oil to burn (see what Palin's mates have done to Alaska's environment that now threatens the world via the US National Snow and Ice Data Center, NSIDC, "Arctic sea ice now second-lowest on record": http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/ ).

C. Palin supports violent and subversive US global hegemony that is associated with 16 million avoidable deaths annually (9.5 million of these avoidable deaths being under-5 year old infants) (see: http://globalavoidablemortality.blogspot.com/ and Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950 ,G.M. Polya, Melbourne, 2007: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/1375/247/ and http://globalbodycount.blogspot.com/ ).

Dan Quayle-like, Religious Right Republican, Desperate Housewife Sarah Palin and her Bush-ite and neo-Bush-ite colleagues represent a huge threat to Alaska, to Indigenous People, to America and to the World. Sarah Palin is unfit to hold any public office, let alone that of Vice President of the United States of America with a potential finger on the nuclear trigger.

Leaving issues of politics, war, economics, environment, civil rights, human rights, women's rights, child rights, gay rights and indigenous rights etc etc aside, America has a population of 300 million and this was the best VP candidate the extreme right wing Bush-ites could come up with.

I do not challenge your right to express your opinion, but as I read this, it reeked of the stench of blatant partisan tripe.

This is totally unbelievable! Perhaps I could be accepted if you had gone so far as to sprinkle a grain of truth here and there!

Unsubstantiated bald denial and abuse do not constitute reasonable arguments.

And the assertion of "partisan" is nonsense. I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican, am economically conservative and one of the greatest of my numerous American heroes is Republican blue blood Dr Paul Craig Roberts, one of America's most outstanding writers, editors, authors and economists (Reagan Administration appointee, famed as "the Father of Reaganomics" (Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration. He was Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page and Contributing Editor of National Review. He is coauthor of The Tyranny of Good Intentions and author of many works; see: Dr Paul Craig Roberts: "Iraqi Genocide" and Dr Paul Craig Roberts).

And why, fundamentally, is conservative Dr Paul Craig Roberts one of my heroes? Because Dr Paul Craig Roberts - like all decent, non-racist Americans - really believes in word and deed that "all men are created equal and have an unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Gideon... several of those are simply reasons based on opinion. For instance, the guns. I strongly support the right to bear arms. It is no less a part of the Constitution than Freedom of Speech and certainly just as important. There are other things, like hte 'endangering' polar bears, which is simply half truth. Palin based the choice on scientific research, and there are several mitigating factors to NOTplace them there. I've outlined several debunks and clarifications on the lefts 'opposition' to Palin in an article I posted no less than 5 minutes ago. So, to keep from basically cutting and pasting that to here... I welcome any debate ou've got to offer.

    Thanks for your comments, Shawn.

In answering your points there is a general point to be made that in public decision making there is a hierarchy of "bad" and "good" outcomes and "avoidable death" (excess death, deaths that should not happen) is a major over-riding consideration.

Thus "revenge" for 9/11 (3,000 Americans murdered; but by who?) might be seen by many as "good" but it is "bad" when one estimates from authoritative data that post-invasion excess deaths in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan territories total 2 million and 3-6 million, respectively, post-invasion under-5 year old infant deaths total 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively and refugees total 4.5 million and 4 million, respectively) (see: Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan, Biofuel and Climate Genocides – Silence Kills and Silence is Complicity ) - clearly "bad" and "worse" when one considers that the "alleged perpetrators" according to the "official Bush version" included NO Iraqis, NO Afghans, NO Women and NO children and are allegedly living in Pakistan (it gets "worse" when one reads in Italy's top newspaper Corriere della Sera in 2007 that former 7-year-President of Italy, law professor, senator-for-life and Western intelligence intimate Francesco Cossiga asserted in interview that the US CIA and Israeli Mossad did 9/11: US Military Officers Challenge "official Bush version". ) . 1. re Guns. Bearing guns might make gun-bearing people feel safer ("good") but the "bad" reality is that about 30,000 Americans are killed by guns every year i.e. 8 x 30,000 = 240,000 Americans have been killed by guns during the Bush Administration (nearly 100 times the number of people who died on 9/11). How "bad" does it have to get?

    2. re Palin opposition to "polar bear endangerment listing". According to top scientific experts, the polar bears (who hunt on ice floes) are endangered through the catastrophic melting of Arctic ice (for the latest see the US National Snow and Ice data Center (NSIDC) : US National Snow and Ice data Center (NSIDC) : Arctic sea ice now second-lowest on record and, for a dramatic picture, The North Pole has become an island for the first time in human history ).

How "bad" does it have to get?

If numbers is your game, then perhaps looking at the total number of births, and total number of people currently alive in the US today VS the number of gun deaths would shed light on the fact that these deaths are minuscule. This is not to say that the deaths are insignificant. Human life is human life and important. However, tighter control or tougher laws seems to be in order since guns are permitted in the Constitution.

The North Pole is not Alaska. Two different places. Palin has no jurisdiction over the North Pole. Palins choice governs only Alaska and even proponents of saving the bears have expressed that placing it on an endangered list will do little to no good. Besides, the number of Polar Bears in increasing without being 'protected"

I'm not quite following how this has anything to do with Palin, currently. I'm sure she'll look into these matters progressively, but these issues are of little concern to the governing of a single state. Remember while there is a hierarchy of good and bad, there is a management hierarchy too.

240,000 Americans killed by Guns under pro-Gun, Palin-supported, Bush Republicans is hardly "miniscule" - compare this with 4,000 Americans killed in Occupied Iraq and about 500 killed in Occupied Afghanistan

What are the numbers of total troops in Iraq and Afghanistan separately? How many of the gun deaths in America are war related? How many gun deaths are done by those who legally own guns? The 240,000 people killed in America accumulated over what period of time? Are the Iraq and Afghanistan numbers in-line with the same time frame? If not, what is the adjusted death toll to make the comparison more 'apples to apples'. Technically, 300 million people in the US, 240,000 IS pretty tiny. That's .0000008 of the total population, not even 1%. Numerically speaking... its pretty damn close to 0. 240,000 is easier to convey a message about though because 240,000 of anything by itself is a lot. Again, not to devalue life, but if your'e throwing numbers, then you picked the field - I'm just playing in it.

There are more aspects and figures to address before packaged figures can be given due credit. I appreciate your concern and your yearn for a pacifist world, but at the same time I would appreciate clarity and accuracy. Palin isn't responsible for the deaths of people with guns all across America. I'll allow the opinion of being responsible for them in Alaska however. If you're saying that almost a quarter million people dies in Alaska due to guns, then okay...

8 years x 30,000 Gun deaths per year = 240,000 Americans killed by Guns under the 8 year pro-Gun, Palin-supported, Bush Republican Administration is hardly "miniscule" - compare this with 4,000 Americans killed in Occupied Iraq (2003-2008) and about 500 killed in Occupied Afghanistan (2001-2008).

If, for example, Sarah Palin were to absurdly assert that 240,000 violent American gun deaths in 8 years of the Bush Administration somehow don't matter or are "miniscule" she would be hounded from her existing office - and one confidently supposes she would NOT make such an absurd assertion, notwithstanding her pro-Gun complicity in this horrendous disaster that is equivalent to 240,000/3000 = 80 9/11 atrocities.

My, My. If these reports are correct, this is frightening. With such a record and with those antiquated positions, Ms. Palin seem to be on the right of even Limbaugh, Bush, Cheney, Rove, McCain, Grahms, Hannity and Beck. If you are worse than these right wingers, then even McCain is in trouble with his VP choice. Americans should be forewarned. Ms.Palin is being masqueraded, Karl Rove style, under the disguise of a devoted mother, reformer and former beauty-queen (didn't Mc Cain accuse Obama of being a celebrity). She is anti-choice, anti-gay, anti-global warming, pro Big Oil, anti-gun control, anti-conservation, etc. etc., But with very little experience in many keys areas necessary for the VP or Presidency (didn't McCain say Obama lacks experience).Together McCain and Ms. Palin, if elected and heaven forbid, will take America back to the days of Puritanism, before indigenous peoples had rights and to the period before choice. Not to mention the rights of animals and endangered species, which as reported she favours as food to deal with scarcity. No wonder McCain was forced by the Conservative Right of Rove,Cheney, Bush etal., to put Ms. Palin on the ticket.

You lost me after the first liberal talking point, then all I saw was "blah blah blah"

So basically because you don't agree with her positions you think she's unfit to be VP.

Yawn. We get it, but your 'article' comes across as nothing but the same old tired and mindless drivel that sprinkles the rest of the leftist moonbat material around here. You also seem very angry inside.

Americans need to ask what and who is America?

The US in a physical sense is North America minus Canada, its unique flora, fauna and ecosystems. Those environmental vandals and quintessential blasphemers who threaten this physical essence of the United States America and especially its most susceptible and threatened ecosystems and species have no place in public life and leadership.

America is a nation founded on "all men are created equal and have an unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" - the Bush-ites, neo-Bush-ites, Zionists and neocons who grossly violate this core value at home (horrendous avoidable death of Americans due to Bush-ite policies and priorites) or abroad (1,000 under-5 year old Indigenous infants die avoidably EACH DAY in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories : UNICEF infant mortality statistics ) are unfit for any public office.

Rulers are responsible for the ruled - whether the ruled are the Domestic, metropolitan or militarily-subjugated subjects in the Bush War on Asian Women and Children.

Americans have a simple choice between respect for species, ecosystems, and the lives of BORN human beings at home and abroad VERSUS species extinction, ecocide, terracide, ethnocide, invasions, occupations, devastation, mass murder, mass pedocide (mass infanticide) and genocide (see: Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan, Biofuel and Climate Genocides – Silence Kills and Silence is Complicity ).

This analysis is not "leftist" but informed by the best of the American core humanitarian culture - thus outstanding conservative American writer, editor, author, academic and economist, Dr Paul Craig Roberts, Father of Reaganomics, has declared that America must stop the Iraqi Genocide (see: Iraqi Genocide ).

Indeed that American core humanitarian culture is loved around the world while the Bush-ites are hated and feared for their racism, greed, blasphemous abuse of the Planet, wars, invasions, occupations and ongoing genocide, mass infanticide and gross abuse of Mother and Child.

As a complete outsider i am British by the way i find it rather disturbing at some of the comments posted ,may i dare say American politics seems to be all based on money power big corporations and religious fruitcakes, what i find equally disturbing is how can you the American people be taken in by the likes of Palin and McCain, remember these politicians are super wealthy have fingers in many pies and are really are not fit for office.when will you wake up and see them for what they really are, and yes i have seen all of there speeches. If these two are the best the republicans can muster then you are all in big trouble because all your forefathers fought for will be eroded away by these nondiscript so called politicians, until you get a president who actually represents all of the people and only the people and not the self interest of big corporations the super wealthy and the religious right ,then you realy do not have a democracy only a mirage of one and my country is no better.may i make it quite clear i am neither a left wing or right wing political animal i believe that politicians should serve the people and only the people and until that happens nothing will change .

At least three reasons why Obama is not even fit to run for President-(1) William Ayers. Obama's campaign actually went to the DOJ(Department Of Justice) to sue them and or the FEC to keep recent information from being released to the public. Obama, and his campaign have something to hide-Big Time(2)Rezko. Obama's dealings with this slum lord convicted felon are being suppresed by the media, and his campaign. Again, Obama and his campaign have something to hide-Big Time.(3)Rev.Wright-His association with this Anti-American racist church for 20 years, has never been fully addressed-because the media, and his campaign have something to hide-Big Time.(4) The support of Louis Farrakhan-He has never denounced the support of this Anti-American/racist/radical. Again, the media, and his campaign have something to hide-Big Time.(5)The support and friendship of the rapper Ludicris-Who is Anti American/racist/sexist. Again, the media, and his campaign have something to hide-Big Time. I could go on, and there is yet more, but you get the picture.

Barack Obama is an outstanding Harvard graduate and an outstanding American political representative who may yet hopefully and powerfully realize the American dream beloved around the world that "all men are created equal and have an unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" - in addition he has NOT been involved in the Iraqi Holocaust, the Iraqi Genocide (1990-2008 Iraqi excess [i.e. avoidable] deaths 4 million; 1990-2008 under-5 infant deaths 1.8 million; Iraqi refugees 4.5 million) (for a detailed and documented account via the eminent Brussells Tribunal see: http://www.brusselstribunal.org/Messages190308.htm#polya ).

Millions of people around the world who love the best of America are thankful that at least ONE of the candidates in the US Presidential elections - Barack Obama - has NOT been involved in the most appalling anti-Semitic Holocaust and most horrible Genocide of a Semitic People since the Nazis in WW2 inflicted the horror of the Jewish Holocaust (6 million killed, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation, 1.5 million Jewish children killed) (for details and documentation see: Gilbert, M. (1969), Jewish History Atlas (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, London); Gilbert, M. (1982), Atlas of the Holocaust (Michael Joseph, London)) .

I got past the first item fine. If you like polar bears and believe that indigenous peoples of Alaska want them protected, then you might get to 2. without saying more. But then you make 2. such a fake, it ruins the rest of the read.

Yet, why not at least ask you why you believe that these points are shared by Palin?

The rest of the points are senseless. Anti-gay? Prove that. Palin evidently believes? Prove that. Based on what position do you oppose shooting wolves from a plane? The same reason you believe that she supports 50 million infant deaths? On what basis do you say she believes in creationism and by what right do you believe her religious beliefs would disqualify her from higher office anyway?

By the way, can you vote in this election?

                1. Read the links provided - Palin is suing the Federal Government over the listing of the endangerment of polar bears. Destruction of species is irreversible environmental vandalism - and from a theist perspective, blasphemy (irreversible destruction of God's works").

Thanks to the carbon polluters that Bush-ite climate sceptic Palin supports (see reasons #11, #16, #17, #19), the Arctic has finally turned in an ISLAND for the first time in human history (see: The North Pole becomes an 'island' for the first time in history as ice melts ) .

                2. Bald denial and abuse do not constitute a reasonable argument. Read the item and the links provided - Palin supports Bush Asian wars that have so far been associated in Occuoied Iraq alone with 4 million excess Indigenous Iraqi deaths and 1.8 million Indigenous Iraqi under-5 infant deaths, 4.5 million refugees and horrendous 18 year trauma for the survivors (three quarters of the victims of Bush-ite occupation of Iraq are Women and Children) ; see: Iraqi Genocide and read the authoritative sources: the UNICEF is a "fake"; the World's top medical epidemiologists at Johns Hopkins and Columbia Universities are "fakes"? the UN Population Division is a "fake"? the UN Genocide Convention is a "fake"? the Geneva Convention is a "fake"?

Yet the Racist Religious Right Republican (R4) Bush-ites will vote for people complicit in the mass murder of Indigenous Asian children that amounts to the biggest Holocaust in human history of ethnically Semitic people (Iraqis, Palestinians) and culturally Semitic People (Afghans, Somalis, Pashtuns, Waziris) - 11 million violent and non-violent excess deaths so far in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories alone, the non-violent deaths being overwhelmingly women and children as in all US post-1950 wars on impoverished, defenceless countries (in comparison the Nazis killed 6 million Jews in World War 2 of whom 1 in 6 died non-violently from deprivation) for details and documentation see: Gilbert, M. (1969), Jewish History Atlas (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, London); Gilbert, M. (1982), Atlas of the Holocaust (Michael Joseph, London)) .

No wonder that Palin-supported Bush US and Bush-ite racist White Australia, and Bush-ite Canada refused to ratify the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People ( the most fundamental being that they are, like everyone, "created equal and have an unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Yet the Racist Religious Right Republican (R4) Bush-ites are quite happy to vote for people like Palin and McCain who are actively complicit in the horrendous blasphemy of "irreversible destruction of God's works", the mass murder of Semitic people and the mass murder of BORN Indigenous children.

As for the rest - opposing gay rights is "anti-gay" ; whatever Palin believes in personally (apart from Beauty contests, de-forestation, oil, carbon polluting, killing endangered wildlife from aeroplanes, war, invasions, occupations, violation of gay, women's, children's, human rights etc) , those who impose false religious clap-trap such as Creationism and Intelligent Design on school children are involved in the intellectual abuse of children and are unfit for any public office.

Extreme right wing, pro-Gun, pro-War, former beauty queen Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska, one of America's states most acutely threatened by man-made climate change (the others most threatened including Florida, Texas and Louisiana) - thus thanks to the CO2 polluters Palin supports, the North Pole has just become an ISLAND (see" The North Pole becomes an 'island' for the first time in history as ice melts ). Ironically, when Sarah Palin rescinded her initial support of the "Bridge to Nowhere" on account of the plethora of earmarks added to the proposal, Biden and Obama voted against using the monies designated for those earmarks toward support of Hurricane Katrina victims as proposed by Senator Tom Coburn. Not only that, they both supported the project.

I like your fire...thanks for putting your opinion out there for the rest of us to lambast/argue/laugh at/dismiss...etc.

First off, Polar Bears????! Are you kidding me, that is your #1 reason?

Second, it sounds to me, given your rants, that you wouldn't have approved of any McCain candidate, as most of your reasons are supported by assumptive arguments (supports Bush/McCain and therefore supports mass genocide in war torn countries?), thus any candidate supporting McCain would support most of your points.

Third, among everything you list, hardly any touch the realm of a Vice President's call to duty. Chief among those rights is being the Head of the Senate and casting "tie breaker" votes. For the most part, the VP never has an actual say in any of the above mentioned policies....most of which have to do with either the war in Iraq or social matters (eg abortion, gay rights). So why are you spending so much energy on this gal?

Also, you credit "avoidable deaths" often as being the result of failed "pro Bush, pro McCain" policies. Could you elaborate? Also, if we are to vote for Obama, the only other option, how would he enact such fast and systemic change that these avoidable deaths would be avoided?

Your argument in general, is flawed. Why? Well, you focus on a number of "global" issues that require the management and assistance of folks outside of the US, folks like oh, I dunno, China, India, Russia, and the EU.

I was hoping to read 20 thought provoking points, but instead find your points are tried and played out and lack both validity and genuine analytical insight.

                            {"commentId":2703657,"threadId":"345083","contentId":"1810314","authorDomain":"cegallag"}

Bald, unsubstantiated denial does not constitute a reasonable argument - my points are carefully documented and linked to quotations and to authoritative sources for quantitative data.

"Polar bears" comes to the heart of the issue - the ice-floe hunting environment of polar bears is dramatically shrinking as shown month by month by the official US National Snow and Ice Data) Centre (US NSIDC: US NSIDC: Arctic sea ice now second-lowest on record ) - indeed several days ago the North Pole became an Island for the first time in human history (for a graphic picture see: North Pole has become an Island for the first time in human history ) )and thanks to man-made global warming due to greenhouse gas pollution supported by pro-oil, climate sceptic Alaska Governor and McCain running mate Sarah Palin.

For serious theists (over 90% of Americans believe in God) wanton and irreversible destruction of God's marvellous works (e.g. polar bear extinction) is appalling blasphemy.

                              {"commentId":2707612,"threadId":"345083","contentId":"1810314","authorDomain":"gpolya"}

Your points are well documented and I am not negating the fact that global warming is ocurring. However, you cannot lay blame solely on McCain and Palin, and you cannot lay blame on the Republican party solely and completely.

Climate change and global warming are both extremely complicated topics that are "global" and indeed have inspired books, movies, thesis papers, and a number of special interest groups. There is no resolution that is easy to come by and that resolution has little to do with political powers that be...believe it or not, the main cause is consumptionism and the ever expanding economic stability of what were once considered "third world" countries. With more mouths to feed, more economic means to feed these mouths, and growing demand for all natural resources, the natural equilibrium of the earth's ecosystem is gradually unbalancing.

How would ANY president, irregardless of party lines, be able to halt something that is systemic? Therefore, your argument, though having points founded in truth, is completely irrelevant to your theme "why Sarah Palin is unfit to be VP".

Perhaps you should write a follow up piece that proposes how the "right" candidate would ammend these 20 reasons.

                                {"commentId":2709286,"threadId":"345083","contentId":"1810314","authorDomain":"cegallag"}

The "right" candidate would simply do the opposite of what Palin is doing i.e. Peace not war; renewables not carbon pollution; protect Alaskan wildlife rather than killing and exterminating; reduce atmospheric CO2 to below 350 ppm (as recommended by NASA's top climate scientists) instead of polluting; advance child, women, infant, gay rights rather than the opposite; protect the BORN rather than the UNBORN products of rape and incest etc etc

How can one protect the BORN if abortionists are doing the business of genocidal killing of the UNBORN? And just how many unborn "products" of rape and incest do you think there are, anyway?

So much for inalienable rights, eh?

I say one thing, the government is corrupt,we have to many attorney to many judges that don't know nothing about the bill of right, are the Constitution, and all they want to do is change it to meet they needs.

How do you get off by saying she is unfit for V.P.,Ill tell you we need new blood in are government,
because the one in there now do nothing, and that means both party's,sound like a bunch of whiners.

                                    We have had to many years of people in are government that have spent 30 years ,and have did nothing for the people,I think is say by the people for the people,not for them selfs,that the problem;
you get rid of the dead beats that has been sucking us dry,and that mean both sides.

The government has got to big for there britches, and sucking us dry.

I can see your point on born and unborn products of rape and incest etc,but if that child go out and get pregnant,my mother always told me you reap what you sow.and I don't believe in sex education
in high school, then give them condoms that dumb, what that tell that child, sex is wrong but here a condom dam, what wrong with this?

On the peace and war thing,It a fact history repeats its self, you can not have it one way, study your history,And if you read the bible in the last days they will be wars and rumor of wars, and you can not change it,and that is a fact.

                                    So get off it.

The news wires are buzzing about the Sarah Palin Runner's World interview. The Sarah Palin Runner's World interview is getting attention especially since the news broke just after it ran that Palin Quits, as governor of Alaska, same as the Palin Vanity Fair spread. Some claim it's so she can concentrate on a Palin 2012 run for President. Her comments in the articles get a bit confusing – although many people have come close to throwing unsecured loans into distilling anything Palin has said into something that resembles a statement that makes sense. Still, a lot of people might look into payday loans to get their own copy of the <a rev="vote for" title="A Hot Mess | Sarah Palin Runner’s World Interview" href="">Sarah Palin Runners' World</a> interview.
