Reason for Gaza Massacre: Hamas destruction NOT 20 Israeli rocket deaths in 8 yrs

advertisement

US, UK, Australian and Israeli Govts say Gaza Massacre (about 500 Gaza dead so far) is about rocket attacks but only 20 Israeli Gaza rocket deaths in 8 YEARS. Top Oz paper: REAL reason is destruction of Hamas.

This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This tells something about the "democratic values" of the US, UK, Israeli and Australian Governments.

Hamas (whether people like it or not) was democratically elected to the Occupied Palestine "Parliament" in 2006 in a landslide victory in elections held for a captive people under Occupier guns - Hamas won 76 out of 132 seats (see : Hamas landslide election ).

The Israelis promptly arrested as many elected Hamas politicians as they could, the remainder fled to Gaza; Hamas put down a US-Israeli-backed Fatah revolt in Gaza but Gaza was then subject to US-, UK-and Australa-backed blockade and starvation by the Israelis (a war crime) who now evidently want to "finish the job" by the Gaza Massacre and Gaza Invasion.

Gaza deaths so far about 5,000 in ONE WEEK versus 20 Israeli deaths from rockets (plus 8 Gaza mortar deaths) from Gaza in EIGHT YEARS, a Them/Us "death ratio" of 500/28 = 17.9 i.e. about EIGHTEEN Occupied Palestinian deaths in ONE WEEK for every Israeli killed by rockets or mortars from Gaza since the Second Intifada began.

This US-, UK-, Australia-backed atrocity has a resprisals "death ratio" nearly TWICE that ordered by Hitler for civilian reprisals for German deaths in Italy and executed in the Ardeatine Massacre in Rome, Iraly in March 1944 (335 Italian men and boys shot as a reprisdal for 33 Nazi German soldiers killed by Italian partisans (see : 10 to 1 death ratio in Nazi German Ardeatine Massacre reprisals ).

Are, the "but Hamas are the democratically elected choice of the people" card yet again.

Well, if their leadership has continuing democratic validity, answer me this Gideon:  When are the next elections due in Gaza?

It should be noted that this report is from what is arguably Australia TOP quality daily newspaper, The Sydney Melbourne Herald.

The SMH says, QUOTE: "Tel Aviv's early insistence that this massive military exercise was about putting a halt to Palestinian rockets being fired into or near communities in the south of Israel never rang true.

Measure it by the number of rockets - 8000-plus over eight years - and indeed it sounds like a genuine existential threat. Consider the toll - 20 Israeli deaths spread over eight years, which is about half the number of deaths in just a month of Israeli traffic accidents - and it all loses its oomph as a causus belli.

Israel does not want to deal with Hamas - it wants to annihilate the Islamist movement." END QUOTE

To forestall the usual knee-jerk, abusive, pro-Zionist responses to this in their tracks, the Director, Corporate Affairs, for Fairfax Media, publisher of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age (arguably Australia's 2 top quality newspapers) is a top Jewish American journalist, Bruce Wolpe.

Bruce Wolpe served for many years as Legislative Director to Rep. Henry Waxman of California, and was a partner in a Washington government relations firm. He has been involved in several US political campaigns for Democratic candidates and was used as a source of expert opinion during the recent US presidential race (see: Jewish American Bruce Wolpe & the Sydney Morning Herald ).

I supposed it would be OK for Canada to begin lobing rockets for the next 8 years into the US, and we just sit back and count the holes in the dirt. Whether its one or ten thousand, its still an invasion. If you are saying that not enough Israelis have been killed by these rocket attacks that is rediculous.

At what time should the US do something about 911, when the death toll reaches 3000, or let these terrorists kill another 500 then do something? At what point does a country defend itself?

The manifest moral problems with that extremely flawed argument is that (a) non-violence is the only way; (b) sky-is-the-limit, pre-emptive, civilian bombing is an invitation to mass murder (being realized already in the Gaza atrocity); (c) and if 28 Israeli deaths from Gaza rockets and mortars and 8 years justifies killing 500 Gazans (so far) then an 18 "death ratio" proportionality and "all men are created equal" would IMPLY that you are suggesting (which I am sure you aren't) 18 x 0.3 million = 5.4 million Jewish Israeli reprisal deaths for the 0.3 million post-invasion Occupied Palestinian excess deaths (avoidable deaths) since 1967 (the Jewish Israeli population is only about 5.5 million in toto).

Apartheid Israel can "defend itself" by following International Law and, in accordance with the 1968 UN Security Council Resolution 252, immediately withdrawing from ALL Palestinian lands illegally captured in 1967.

That depends curmudgeon, would we do something rational or would we surround...say...montreal. Cut off food and water, cut off fuel, deny medical care, deny access to the press, bomb civilians with state of the art weaponry all the while declaring to the rest of the world that we are victims?

I don't know Wheel, it was hypothetical. I would say, lets look back at September 11, but we lost 3000+ and that was truly a lot of people and massive destruction.

Lets say, we have a much smaller terrorist event, like the London Subway bombing where 50 people are killed. Should we take the hit and not return the favor, or should we defend ourselves given that 50 people is not even a fraction of the 310 million Americans as have available to be victims of terror? What would be the rational response?

Israel is lucky to have state of the art weaponry, it has saved Gazan lives, they could be dropping good old WW2 style TNT, with little or no accuracy as in Gazan rockets. With all the hype of starving Gazans, not one case of starvation has been proven in Gaza. If Hamas had state of the art weaponry, they would have already attacked Israel in full force. That is why they don't have it, not one, even radical country trust them with it.

The old arguments of Israel protecting herself from attacks by Islamic countries like Syria and Iran still apply. there is a border with Syria from which Iran and Syria, in a combined attack, could come into Israel. Combined with Hamas and Hezbollah Israel could be easily attacked and seriously damaged, if not overcome.

Changing the subject now? If you really want to drag 9/11 into this, where it has no place, then maybe we should hit back against the people who actually did it, which we never did.
