US celebrates Independence Day – but when will Occupied Haiti, Occupied Somalia, Occupied Palestine, Occupied Syria, Occupied Iraq , Occupied Diego Garcia and Occupied Afghanistan get THEIR Independence?
On the 4th of July America is celebrating Independence Day, the day marking the Independence of the 13 states of the United States America from Great Britain, a country having the same language, same culture, same general philosophy and the same religion. Indeed the cultural similarities between the USA and the UK today are so great that they are the closest of allies.
However today the US or its surrogates violently occupy a swathe of countries across the globe that have no such linguistic or cultural links and which are suffering horrendous mortality rates under a callous, violent and and racist occupation.
Human evolution has only taken us so far – we are evidently genetically hardwired for altruism in our family and extended family but altruism falls off sharply the further we get away from kin (although non-genetic memes, or cultural ideas such as "love thy neighbor", can enhance such altruism) . A consequence of this is that foreign rulers have grossly inadequate concern for their conquered indigenous subjects.
This lack of altruism is reflected in a precise parameter called excess death (aka avoidable mortality, avoidable death, or excess mortality i.e. deaths that should not have happened) and which is defined as the difference between the actual deaths in a country and the deaths expected for a peaceful, decently governed country with the same demographics.
Using data from the UN Population Division it is possible to estimate excess deaths for every county in the world since 1950 (for detailed documentation see my book "Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950" : http://globalbodycount.blogspot.com/ and http://mwcnews.net/Gideon-Polya ). The same source of demographic data provides information on infant mortality and other important statistics.
The summary data provided below is of 1950-2005 excess deaths/ 2005 population (both in millions, m) and expressed as a percentage (%); this ratio is given for every country for which the US has been a major Occupier post-1945. The asterisk (*) below indicates a major occupation by more than one country in the post-WW2 era (thus both the UK and the US are both major current Occupiers of Afghanistan and Iraq, leaving aside the many other minor participants in these occupations). I also provide the relevant data for the US itself and the total for US-occupied countries in the post-war era.
1950-2005 excess deaths/ 2005 population (both in millions, m, and expressed as a percentage, %) for the US [8.455m/300.038m = 2.8%] , Afghanistan* [16.609m/25.971m = 64.0%], Cambodia* [5.852m/14.825m = 39.5%], Dominican Republic [0.806m/8.998m = 9.0%], Federated States of Micronesia [0.016m/0.111m = 14.4%], Greece* [0.027m/10.978m = 0.2%], Grenada* [0.018m/0.121m = 14.9%], Guam [0.005m/0.168m = 3.0%], Haiti* [4.089m/8.549m = 47.9%], Iraq* [5.283m/26.555m = 19.9%], Korea* [7.958m/71.058m = 11.2%], Laos* [2.653m/5.918m = 44.8%], Panama [0.172m/3.235m = 5.3%], Philippines [9.080m/82.809m = 11.0%], Puerto Rico [0.039m/3.915m = 1.0%], Somalia* [5.568m/10.742m = 51.8%], US Virgin Islands [0.003m/0.113m = 2.4%], Vietnam* [24.015m/83.585m = 28.7%], total = 82.193m/357.651m = 23.0%.
You can see that US imperialism comes at a very high price – 82 million excess deaths in subject countries in the period 1950-2005.
You can see how vital it is that the US and its surrogate terrorist accomplices (Ethiopia, Apartheid Israel, Apartheid Australia , the UK and NATO) depart from Occupied Haiti, Occupied Somalia, Occupied Palestine, Occupied Syria, Occupied Iraq , Occupied Diego Garcia and Occupied Afghanistan.
The US-imposed Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide are associated (so far) with the following catastrophe: post-invasion non-violent excess deaths 0.3 million, 1.0 million and 3 million, respectively; post-invasion violent excess deaths 10,000, 1.3 million and up to 4 million, respectively; post-invasion non-violent and violent excess deaths 0.3 million, 2.3 million and 3-7 million, respectively; post-invasion under-5 infant deaths 0.2 million, 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively; refugees totalling 7 million, 5-6 million and 3-4 million, respectively, with a further 2.5 million Pashtun refugees generated under Obama from the NW Province of Pakistan in the last 6 months alone.
Yet the killing goes on. The "annual death rate" is 7.0% for Occupied Afghan under-5 year old infants as compared to 2.9% for inmates of the Nazi German Buchenwald Concentration Camp.
The reason for this carnage is simple - WHO (see: http://www.who.int/countries/en/ ) informs that the "total annual per capita medical expenditure" permitted by the US Alliance Occupiers in Occupied Iraq and Occupied Afghanistan is currently $124 and $29, respectively, as compared to $6,714 in Occupier US. The US Alliance countries are grossly violating the Geneva Convention which demands that an Occupier must supply life-sustaining food and medical supplies "to the fullest extent of the means available to it" (see Articles 55 and 56 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/92.htm ).
A similarly shocking testament is the answer to the anti-war chant "Hey, hey, USA, how many kids did you kill today?" – the answer for the US under Obama in 2009 is ONE THOUSAND (1,000) (see: http://bellaciao.org/en/spip.php?article18750 ).
On the 4th of July America is celebrating its Independence Day – but when will Occupied Haiti, Occupied Somalia, Occupied Palestine, Occupied Syria, Occupied Iraq , Occupied Diego Garcia and Occupied Afghanistan get their Independence from the US and the murderous, racist, genocidal, war criminal US Alliance countries?

You know, I just wish some of the lefty's could have an "It's a Wonderful Life" moment and have a world without the US for just a few years, and see what the world would be like.
Of course, they would have to learn a new language, like German, Russian, or Chinese first.
These people live in the greatest, freest, and most prosperous society the world has ever known. This country has had it's stains on it's history, but it has also been the driving force which has liberated more people from tyranny than in all the pevious history of civilization.
Just because we are (or were) a nation that demands at least a modicum of self-responsibility, they hate it so much they cannot see the forest for the trees.

Where in your article on that extremist hate-mongering website do you provide ANY evidence? You cite a lot of numbers, but not one shred of evidence that US armed forces or US civilians are DIRECTLY causing that many deaths.
Yes, there are times when civilian deaths are caused in military operations.
But even you cannot rationally deny that the US military does more to go out of it's way to avoid civilian casualties that any other force in the world.
Certainly not the Islamofascists, who deliberately target women and children as a matter of course.

Did you know that 3,100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been built in Iraq?
That article is a couple of years old. There are similar numbers in Afghanistan, Kosovo, and all over Africa, as well.
And here is another truth you so conviently ignore, Gideon. When the job is finished, America leaves sovereign nations, not occupied territories.
Did we annex any part of Europe or Japan after WWII?
Do we not allow a freely elected sovereign government in South Korea after the Korean War?
Have we annexed any part of Kosovo?
Did we steal Kuwait's oil?
Are we not in the process now of withdrawing in Iraq (after victory, no thanks to the Obama Cult) and will turn over the country to it's freely elected government?
And will we not do the same in Afghanistan when the time comes?

Answer these questions.
What would have happened in Iraq if the insurgency had not happened? Is it not true that we would have been long gone by now?
What if the Taliban were not giving sanctuary to al-Qaeda? Would we be in Afghanistan at all? Would 9-11 have even happened?
What if Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran decided today to let Israel live in peace? Would there not be peace in the Middle East tomorrow?
See, Gideon, America is NOT the bad guy in the world. Are we perfect? No. Do we make mistakes? Yes.
But the truth, Gideon, which you seem to take such delight in ignoring, is that America has been, and still is, the greatest force for freedom and liberty the world has ever seen. We liberated 50 million people from brutality just since 9-11.
But take heart. The Messiah, the Almighty B.O., and his Cult, are bound and determined to turn America into a weak, amoral, socialist cesspool.
And he will soon throw Israel to the wolves.
So we may yet see how the world will be without America, because the Messiah will destroy it from within.

I was talking about American policy as a continuum, of which the six months of the Obama administration are a VERY small part.
However, while I don't think of Obama as a neo-con, or a promoter of welfare for the wealthy, he has yet to reach the compassion level of Tony Blair.

I read your article. Your basic premise for your statistics is that if a child under 5 dies anywhere in the world, if an American is within a thousand miles, then it's America's fault.
